The focal bead on this necklace reminds me of a piece of ice which has been chipped away in various places. The design of it is directly tied to the winters of my childhood in Ohio, where I would ice skate and sled until my nose and toes were frozen. White pearls cascade down one side like snowflakes falling, while the blueberry quartz is symbolic of the color of the snow filled clouds on those short winter afternoons. I envision the silver beads and Swarovski crystals as the icicles hanging from the eaves and the silver dove clasp reminds me of winter birds flying above the trees.
